High quality gypsum based self leveling mortar should not only meet relevant standards and usage requirements, but also have stable quality, easy construction, high flatness, beautiful surface layer, good durability, and low cost. Gypsum has a high threshold and is more complex than cement. To achieve good gypsum based self leveling, it is necessary to study raw materials, products, and construction standards, and start from research and development, production, and construction in all aspects. In the report, Director Yang elaborated on the technical difficulties of gypsum based self leveling and the roles and characteristics of each component in the formula, starting from the issue of raw materials. In the report, Director Yang also shared a case study of Zhimeitang laboratory using DIN viscosity cup to test the viscosity of self leveling slurry to characterize its workability, as well as the new generation of water retaining stabilizer S750 developed by Zhimeitang.

DIN viscosity cup is generally used for determining the viscosity of coating products, and there is a relatively complete standard system. The principle is to test the time for mortar to flow out of the viscosity cup with an opening. The shorter the time, the faster the flow velocity of the mortar, the lower the viscosity value, and the better the flow performance. This is also the first time in China to propose using DIN viscosity cups to test the self leveling viscosity of gypsum based materials. forty

S750 belongs to the shear thinning stabilizer, used for flow system mortar, which can improve the flowability and water retention of mortar, resist segregation and bleeding, and enhance the stability of slurry. Zhimeitang conducted a large number of self leveling tests using phosphogypsum and other gypsum produced by Xinyangfeng Jingmen Factory. The gypsum base stabilized with S750 was self dispersing and easy to add water, with good suspension stability, less oil pollution, high flatness, and significantly reduced cost.

At the end of the report, Director Yang mentioned that the development of high-strength alpha gypsum and type II anhydrous gypsum technology is very fast, and the investment and production costs have been greatly reduced. With the maturity of technology, it will also be widely applied in the gypsum industry, and the gypsum based self leveling industry will eventually develop towards high quality, multi-purpose, and low cost.
